Must Read

During his press conference on Friday 19th November, the Leader of the Opposition has shared his concern about the sanitary situation in Mauritius.  According to him, if we consider the number of deaths in November, we can conclude that there is “almost one death per hour” and “23 deaths per day”.

After his PNQ on the pandemic, Xavier-Luc Duval states that the medical staff, who has worked in difficult conditions this year, should be paid a fourteenth month as compensation.

‘I am ready and willing to give up my end of the year month bonus so that the government can reward nurses, doctors and all other staffs working in the hospitals in terms of a 14th month bonus…’, declared the leader of Opposition.

Another point taken up at the press conference was the necessity to come up with more strict measures, particularly in public transport and social activities; as well as the reintroduction of alphabetical order for purchases and “severely” controlled leisure activities.

The Opposition leader also provided figures regarding the number of deaths and as per his calculations from 01 September to 18 November, there were nearly 1071 deaths due to Covid-19.
