Tourism Industry: Attitude Hotels And EHL Join Hands To Support Mauritian Hospitality

The partnership between Hotels Attitude and École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), the world’s leading hospitality business school, was officially launched, Monday, at Ravenala Attitude Hotel in Balaclava. In this context, an award ceremony was held, to celebrate the achievement of some 14 trainers from the Attitude Academy on completing the ‘Train the Trainer’ Vocational Education and Training (VET) Programme.

It is noted that the VET courses offered through the Attitude Academy, are accessible to all individuals. Participants can attain a professional diploma from EHL Hospitality Business School without the need to travel off the island.

The event was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of Attitude Hotels, Mr Jean Michel Pitot, the Adviser to the Minister of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training, Mrs Lucinda Robert- Holmes, the EHL Consultant and Master Trainer, Mr Eric Debétaz, and other personalities.

Speaking on the behalf of the Minister of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training, Mr Soodesh Satcam Callichurn, Mrs Robert- Holmes emphasised that the collaboration between Attitude Hotels and EHL represents a pivotal moment for the tourism industry, recognising Mauritius’s renowned excellence in hospitality. This partnership symbolises a significant stride forward for the tourism industry, leveraging Mauritius’s reputation for world-class hospitality, she stated.

Moreover, Mrs Robert- Holmes elaborated on the importance of strategic training initiatives, citing specific programmes aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of local hospitality professionals. Expressing gratitude, she thanked EHL for its decision to expand into Mauritius, recognising the mutual benefits this alliance would bring, including job creation, skills development, and a boost to the local economy.

For his part, Mr. Debétaz spoke about the close relationship between the EHL Group and the Attitude Group, highlighting shared values like family, learning, and excellence. He underscored Mauritius’s significance as a tourist destination, explaining that the partnership with EHL intends to leverage its expertise in hospitality education, encompassing reception and hospitality. This collaboration, he added, facilitates a substantial transfer of knowledge and know-how, enhancing educational opportunities in the hospitality sector.
