Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit In India: Pravind Jugnauth Among Narendra Modi’s 5 Distinguished Guests

From January 10 to 12, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth will travel to India to attend one of the world’s largest business events: the Vibrant Gujrat Global Summit. The Head of the Indian Government, Narendra Modi has invited Pravind Jugnauth to be among the 5 distinguished guests.

The High Commissioner of India, Nandini Singla said that it is a great pleasure to welcome Pravind Jugnauth to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. In 2019, the last edition of this summit, 42,000 delegates, including businessmen, attended. For the 2021 edition, the Mauritian head of state will be among the 5 distinguished guests and will have the opportunity to meet the Indian Prime Minister. Nandini Singla said “It will be an opportunity to review bilateral relations. The two Heads of State will look at the issues where India and Mauritius are concerned and see how we can move forward together”. The High Commissioner of India took the opportunity to recall that India has signed its first free trade agreement in almost a decade with Mauritius. Moreover, she said, Mauritius is the first African country with which India has signed such a free trade agreement: the CECPA. This comprehensive economic cooperation and partnership agreement is full of interesting measures for importers and exporters.

Thus, the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit will serve to strengthen the ties between the two countries, to discuss the opportunities that exist in terms of bilateral relations and trade and investment between the two countries.
