Mervin Rambojun, a 25-year-old resident of Quatre-Cocos was arrested in the early hours of this Saturday morning, December 25, after being stopped while loitering at the scene of an accident on the Royal Road of Flacq Post. After being taken to the police station of Flacq, a search was carried out on his person. A box of cigarettes was found in his pants. It contained four pieces of cellophane paper containing cannabis, a cellophane paper with hashish and two Pregabalin tablets classified as psychotropic. A sum of Rs 5,175 suspected to be from the sale of the drug was seized from his possession.
It was 1:30 a.m. this Saturday, December 25, a team of police officers from Flacq went to the Royal Road, Flacq Post. That following a request concerning a road accident. A car of the brand Peugeot of grey color ended its race against an electric pylon. No one was at the wheel. At the same time, police officers noticed a young driver driving a silver Toyota roaming around the area.
The driver, Mervin Rambojun, was arrested shortly afterwards and taken to the Flacq police station where he was searched. This exercise allowed to find in his pants a box of cigarettes. This one contained cannabis, hashish, two Pregabalin tablets and the sum of Rs 5175.
The suspect who was placed in cell at the police station of Flacq was brought before the Bail and Remand Court in Port-Louis during the day of Saturday December 25.
