The Crew Of The Sir Gaëtan Launched Three SOS

A coastguard officer stationed in Grand Bay testified this morning before the court of inquiry into the sinking of the tug, Sir Gaetan. He explained that on 31^st August 31 2020, at around 8:15pm, he received a first distress call from the tug, Sir Gaetan. There were two other SOS from the crew, the coastguard said. He added the crew members told him that the tug was taking on water and that the situation was serious. The Coastguard also indicated that he took the telephone numbers of two of the crew members because once the tug was under water, the radio would be dead.
