Must Read

The former CEO of Mauritius Telecom, Sherry Singh, was arrested early on Wednesday afternoon after being questioned “under warning” by the MCIT. This police force unit is investigating an alleged plot to destroy electronic data belonging to Sherry Singh. The MCIT had launched an investigation following a complaint from a senior MT executive. According to the complaint, electronic data relating to Sherry Singh had been deleted from the work computer of MT’s former CEO.

Sherry Singh will be brought before the Port Louis court where a provisional charge of “giving instructions to commit an offence” will be laid against him. Two people have so far been arrested in connection with this investigation, namely Salim Raja, Senior Officer Information System at Mauritius Telecom, and Nirmala Ramjhuria, former Chief Human Resources Officer at MT.

According to the police, the facts date back to June 2022, in the month preceding the resignation of MT’s ex-CEO.
