Must Read

A most audacious robbery was perpetrated in the village of Arsenal at the home of a Mauritian who is currently in England. A relative of the victim, a 40-year-old teacher, reported the break-in to the Terre Rouge police station in the late afternoon of Sunday April 21. The robbery took place between 9 a.m. on Saturday April 20 and 11.25 a.m. on Sunday April 21. The house was robbed of Rs 500,000.

In a complaint made at around 2 p.m. on Sunday April 21, this teacher explained that she had been looking after this relative’s house since he left for England. On Sunday morning, when she came to visit the house, she found that an aluminum door had been forced open to allow thieves access inside.

They came away with seven Galanz air conditioners, a lawnmower, electrical cables inside the house, an LG TV, all the plumbing fittings, several aluminum doors and an aluminum partition. All this has a market value of Rs 500,000.

The house is not equipped with surveillance cameras or a guard system. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Terre Rouge has been asked to trace the perpetrators of this theft.
