Both director and producer, Jonathan Bécherel will soon launch a video streaming application. Noutub will offer 100% Mauritian productions for a monthly subscription of Rs 130.
Only a few days left and his dream will be a beautiful reality. Indeed, Jonathan Bécherel will soon launch Noutub.
Noutub: “It is a project I have been dreaming about since 2018. With the advent of Netflix, I told myself that it would be nice to create a similar platform that would exclusively broadcast Mauritian videos. In May 2021, I started working on it personally because I could not afford to pay a developer,” explains this Trou-aux-Biches resident.
The application will initially offer a hundred videos ranging from movies, concerts among others: “The platform hosts only video content. For the moment we have about a hundred.”
The platform is open to content producers for free: “A director can submit his creation. If it is approved, it will be broadcast on the platform. The director will be remunerated according to the percentage of views on all the subscriptions.”
For his part, the consumer will be able to download the application for free from Play Store. To view the content, however, he will have to subscribe to a 3 dollars subscription, equivalent to Rs 130. This subscription will give him access to all the contents for one month. He can renew his subscription if he wishes.
