The National Day Awards are a means of recognising various forms of merit and service to Mauritius. The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, conferred the National Awards to recipients, this morning, during an insignia ceremony held at the State House, in Réduit, in presence of the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and other members of the government.
The National Award of the GRAND COMMANDER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN (GCSK) was conferred to:
- Mr Tacouri Ranapartab, CSK, for valuable contribution in the field of banking.
- The National Awards were conferred to various personalities as follows:
GRAND OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN (GOSK)
- Mr Koonjoo Premdut for significant contribution in the political field; and
- Mr Prayag Hemansing, PDSM for significant contribution in the public sector.
COMMANDER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN (CSK)
- Mr Salemohamed Yoosuf Muhammad for contribution in the business sector;
- Mrs Sauzier Jacqueline for distinguished contribution in the field of agriculture;
- Mr Tengur Suttyhudeo for significant contribution in the education field and the promotion of trade unionism; and
- Mr Triton Louis Eric for significant contribution in the field of music.
