Kinder Chocolates Recalled In Mauritius After Suspected Salmonella Cases In Europe

Must Read

Ferrero is voluntarily recalling certain batches of Kinder products in Mauritius as a precautionary measure, according to a press release issued by Ferrero on Wednesday, April 6. The company maintains that it is working with public authorities on a potential link to reported cases of salmonella.

Several dozen cases of salmonellosis were detected in Europe, with suspicions turning to Belgian-made Kinder chocolate products recalled by manufacturer Ferrero.

However, none of the Kinder products put on the market have tested positive for salmonella, according to the company. As a precautionary measure, the company took the decision to voluntarily recall the products.

The affected products are Kinder Schoko-Bons, Kinder Happy Moments and Mix Panier with expiry dates between 7 June 2022 and 2 August 2022. These products are manufactured in Belgium.

In addition, all other Ferrero and Kinder products, including Kinder Surprise and Mini Eggs sold in Mauritius by Lim How Brothers & Co. Ltd, a distributor-partner of Ferrero, are not included in the scope of this recall.
