A 36-year-old pregnant woman was taken in charge by a team of police officers from the Eau-Coulée police station after the car she was traveling in was involved in an accident. This resident of cité Malherbes, Curepipe who started to have contractions, was on her way to the Victoria Hospital, Candos in the early hours of this Tuesday, April 26. The car she was in collided with a 2 x 4 at the junction of Route Royale and Rue Mgr Leen in Eau-Coulée. While she was in the police vehicle, she gave birth to a girl about a hundred meters away.
At the Eau-Coulée police station on Tuesday, the dedication of Sergeant Eradhun, Policewoman Busawon and Police Officers Veerasamy and Luchesshi who were on duty was praised by all their colleagues. It was 4 o’clock in the morning on Tuesday 26 April. This thirty-year-old woman accompanied by her husband and her 16-year-old daughter were on board a Honda car that was driving in the direction of the Candos hospital. At a certain moment this car emerged on a road and hit a 2 x 4 of the brand Mitsubishi.
The police of Eau-Coulée were requested by the husband of the thirty-year-old to send a vehicle to take his wife to the hospital. In the meantime, both drivers completed the Agreed Statement of Facts form. The pregnant woman, who was having more contractions, was then picked up by a police officer and taken to the hospital. During the trip, her contractions became more intense and her daughter helped her give birth.
The resident of cité Malherbes gave birth to her fifth child, she is already mother of four girls and one boy. Her baby and her are still admitted to the labor ward. Her husband was very moved and said he was very proud of the team that worked that day and sent a policeman to take them to the hospital.
