Must Read

“To pa pou rest dans sa lakaz twa, mo pou mett dife dan to lakaz, mo pa per prizon”. This is the threat that a resident of one of the NHDC apartments in Sebastopol had made to her neighbor on Sunday, November 27. The 38-year-old victim suspects that the woman made good on her threat because on Friday morning, December 2, her house was set on fire in her absence. She found that a door, located at the back of her house, was damaged, while a water pipe was cut in her yard and the faucet taken away.

This Friday, December 2, around 11:00 a.m., the victim went to the Montagne Blanche police station to report a case of arson. She explains in her complaint that she was at her father’s house in Alma that day when she received a call from one of her neighbors around 7:00 a.m. to inform her that a fire had broken out at her home.

She soon returned to her home with a team of police officers. She was to find that a back door of her house had been damaged and a water pipe in her yard had been cut and the faucet had been taken away.

In her statement, she said she suspected three people, including a man, of being the perpetrators. The three individuals live in the same block of her apartment. On Sunday, November 27, she had an argument with these people and one of them told her, “To pa pou rest dans sa lakaz twa, mo pou mett dife dan to lakaz, mo pa per prizon.

In addition to regular police officers, elements of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Eastern Division were also present at the scene. Forensic technicians were on site to collect evidence and take samples to help solve the case.
