Transfer Waltz Within The Police Force

After the promotion exercise of Monday, September 6, a series of transfers takes effect from Monday, September 13 within the police force. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dhanesh Budhoo, who was the number 2 in the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID), is transferred to the Special Mobile Force (SMF) where he becomes the acting commanding officer. This position was held by Anil Kumar Dip until Tuesday, August 3, when he was appointed acting commissioner of police.

Acp Ally Mohammed Oozeer leaves the SMF to be the divisional commander at the Metropolitan Police of the northern division. Acp Mohunlall Madhow becomes the divisional commander of the eastern division, he is replaced in the Metropolitan Police of the southern division by Acp Seeparsad Mannaram who left the eastern division. Mardaymootoo Rassen, who has just been promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police has left the Central Division to be the new Operations’ Officer in the police force. He is based at the Special Supporting Unit headquarters in C.

ACP Rajcoomar Seebah, who was the Northern Divisional Commander, becomes the Training Officer of the police force. He will be based at the Police Training School in Beau-Bassin.  Superintendent of Police, Premanand Purmarssur, takes over the responsibility of this division.  CPO Chandan Ramanand Ramkeelawon leaves the Metropolitan Police in the Northern Division to be the divisional commander in the Central Division. ACP Soondeereine Veeramalay, leaves the Southern Division to be in charge of the airport of Plaisance. He is replaced by ACP François Nicole who was in charge of the Special Supporting Unit. Note that ACP Mohammad Irshaaad Bhunnoo, is the only police officer to have not left his position as Divisional Commander of the Western Division.

In addition to the rotation of several police officers and inspectors, several police superintendents were also transferred as part of this exercise. Four superintendents were reassigned. Sanil Seenanand left the Metropoltan Police in the northern division for the CCID, Seewanand Kishtoo from the airport to the Metropolitan Police in the southern division, Sahood Raheeman from the southern division to the Metropolitan Police in the southern division and Kistnasamy Armoogum from the Metropolitan Police in the southern division to take charge of the Criminal Investigation Division in the same division.

A source at the Central Barracks, explains that these transfers are intended to make a Career Development of each officer so that they do not remain stagnant.
