Forty-three deaths on our roads since the beginning of this year. Unfortunately, an 18 year old teenager was added to the list of this black series in the evening of Monday, May 8th. Mohammad Wazeer Korimbaccus, living in one of the apartments of the NHDC, Cité La Cure left the victim when the motorcycle he was driving along the road Montée Hussard, cité Vallijee ended its race violently against a tree. This teenager died on the spot.
It is around 22 hours 40 that this terrible accident occurred. Waseer Korimbaccus was driving a blue and black Suzuki motorcycle on the road to Montée Hussard. The young man was coming from Grande Rivière Nord-Ouest and was heading towards downtown. It is at the high of Montée Hussard in cité Vallijee that he would have lost control of these two wheels.
An ambulance was called to evacuate the injured man to the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis. While the doctor was providing first aid to the victim on the spot, he had to note at 10:50 pm this Monday, May 8th that Waseer Korimboccus had already given up the ghost. The body of this teenager was then transported to the morgue of the Dr Jeetoo Hospital for an autopsy. The autopsy was performed on the morning of Tuesday, May 8 by Dr. Ananda Sunnassee, Police Medical Officer, and attributed the death to multiple injuries.
An investigation has been initiated at the Central Barracks Police Station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this accident. At the time of this tragic accident this road was dry and well lit.
