A police officer assigned to the Flacq Police Station reported a case of “Causing harm to a child” at the Brisée Verdière Police Station in the early evening of Monday, May 8. During the day he was informed that his son, who is 15 years old and a grade 9 student in a private high school, injured his foot while playing soccer in the schoolyard. Two teachers at the hospital were also to give him this version. However, when he was at the bedside of his son who was admitted to the ward, the latter told him that he had been assaulted by a 15-year-old college student.

In his complaint, the 42-year-old police officer explained that he received a phone call at around 11:05 a.m. on Monday, May 8, from his son’s college. He was informed that his son, who was playing soccer, had injured his right foot. Immediately the policeman went to the Dr Bruno Cheong Hospital in Flacq to meet his son. In the emergency room he saw his son with a bandage on his foot up to his knee. His son was in excruciating pain.

After receiving treatment, the teenager was admitted to the ward. His father met with two of his son’s middle school teachers, who informed him that his son had been injured during a middle school soccer game. The same day during the hour of the visit around 4 pm he went to meet his son. He said he asked him about the circumstances of his injury. It is at this precise moment that his son confided to him that one of his classmates had attacked him on his right foot.

This policeman expressed the wish to file an official complaint to the Minister of Education against these two teachers of his son’s college who gave him false information.
