Member of the group Gangsta Beach, T-East now lives in France. But, he did not put away his guitar, his voice and his lyrics. A 5th solo album is in preparation. And if we cross our fingers hard, it could be released under the label of Universal Music.
Revealed in 2002 after the release of the album Kriyé, T-East launched a solo career in 2004. Four albums followed and a 5th is currently in the pot: “Revey twa mo pep will probably be the title of my 5th album. It will be composed of 12 to 13 tracks with different sounds ranging from seggae to reggae through dancehall among others. For the moment, I refine my texts. Because for me, it is useless to make music if we do not convey a message. If everything goes well, it could be that the album comes out under this label of Universal Music.
And since France has adopted him, this son of Grand-Baie has also made movies: “In 2017, I made an appearance in the film ‘Ce qui nous lie’ by Cédric Klapisch. Four of my songs were also chosen for the film. This is a huge honor for me, one that I also share with Wachano – another member of Gangsta Beach, who also made a musical contribution in the film.”
And Gangsta Beach in all this: “The band is currently on hiatus. We’re working on a project. It’s no surprise that the group will be back in the spotlight soon.”
