Supplementary Appropriation (2021/2022) Bill To Be Introduced Tuesday

Must Read

The Supplementary Appropriation (2021/2022) Bill will be presented by Finance Minister Renganaden Padayachy for debate and adoption on Tuesday. The Finance Minister is asking for a vote of an additional Rs 9.5 billion for additional expenditures for this fiscal year. This supplementary budget will be for expenditures, both recurrent and capital, on government services for the fiscal year 2021-2022.

The details of these supplementary expenditures are as follows: Ministry of Finance – Rs 300 million; Ministry of Energy and Utilities – Rs 280 million; Ministry of Health – Rs 2.5 billion; Centrally Managed Initiatives of Government Rs 520 million.

So, as is always the case, because of the supplementary budget for the current fiscal year, there will be no Private Notice Question (PNQ) or Parliamentary Questions on Tuesday in the National Assembly. The rules of the Parliament do not allow it when such a text is presented and/or debated.

On Tuesday, the debates on the National Environment Cleaning Authority Bill will continue and should end this Tuesday and the bill voted. The Beach Authority (Amendment) Bill has also been put on Tuesday’s agenda.
