So Far, No Allegations Against Maneesh Gobin, Maintains Pravind Jugnauth

The Prime Minister was at Camp Levieux Yesterday Afternoon. He was taking part in a ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the construction of 200 housing units. Pravind Jugnauth answered lots of questions from journalists. For him, there was a lot of talk about the Stag Party affair, particularly Maneesh Gobin.

The Prime Minister stated that to date there have been no allegations of corruption against the Attorney General or the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He added that the Icac had not even seen fit to summon Maneesh Gobin, unlike Rajanah Dhaliah. He added that he had discussed the matter with his minister.  “So far, I have not seen any allegations against Maneesh Gobin”, he said. Pravind Jugnauth also insisted that to date, “Icac has not seen the need to summon Gobin”.

The PM stated that the government is building 400 houses per district, hence a total of 8,000. He also added that his government will be constructing more houses as the number of applicants is much higher.  Pravind Jugnauth said that it was an honor that Mauritius was able to participate in the G20 summit.
