Rs 428,000 Cannabis Plants Uprooted By ADSU

Elements of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) of Mahébourg uprooted, during the day of Tuesday February 7, 107 cannabis plants in the southern region of the country. These plants, which measure between one and two meters, were uprooted in Montagne Ronde and Ferney. The market value of these plants is Rs 428 000.

It is based on certain information that these police officers of the ADSU, led by sergeant Valsada, went to an abandoned land in Montagne Ronde. 52 plants measuring between one meter fifty and two meters ten were discovered there.

On another abandoned field in the Ferney area, these ADSU policemen came across 55 cannabis plants, measuring two meters. These plants were uprooted before being transported to the ADSU headquarters after having passed through the Rose-Belle office.

An investigation was initiated to trace the growers of these plants.
