Bruneau Laurette participated in a reconstruction at his home in Petit-Verger, Saint-Pierre, on Monday 28 November. His son Ryan Laurette, who is on bail, is also participating.
The exercise, which took place on the first floor of the house, has been conducted under heavy police escort.
This is in relation to the investigation of the seizure of 46.25 kg of hashish from the trunk of the car JR12 that Bruneau Laurette was using.
The exercise began in Calodyne at the home of Dominique Raya. The police retraced the route taken by Bruneau Laurette through the capital, Pailles, Tour Koenig, Rose-Hill and Saint-Pierre on Friday 4 November.
Laurette and his son Ryan were arrested after an operation by the Striking Team. 46 kg of hashish, 700 g of synthetic drugs and 2 weapons and ammunition were seized during the operation on 4 November.
Earlier this morning, the provisional charge of possession of synthetic drugs against Bruneau Laurette was dropped in Moka court. However, the charges of hashish trafficking and possession of firearms were maintained. This decision follows the findings of the SLF report obtained on Saturday.
Pravind Jugnauth takes aim at some lawyers
Participating in the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of a grade separation intersection at Wooton, Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth commented on the recent drug trafficking cases and the arrest of Bruneau Laurette. The Head of Government was critical of some lawyers who, according to him, associate with some drug traffickers. “I’m sure there is a difference between defending and associating drug traffickers” he added.
