Must Read

Siddick Warsallee, 51 years old is detained at the Central Prison of Beau-Bassin since Friday, October 15 after his arrest by elements of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Flacq. This follows a complaint made by the chief pharmacist of the hospital Dr. Bruno Cheong of Flacq that an act of fraud was made on a prescription for twenty-eight Valium tablets, a psychotropic drug. The suspect who lives in Flacq confessed his guilt in this case.

It is during the day of Thursday, October 14 that a complaint was made to this effect at the police station of Flacq. The chief pharmacist of the hospital of Flacq, 52 years old, explained that while checking a series of prescriptions on the morning of Saturday, October 2, he detected two prescriptions bearing the name of the same patient. He was surprised to find that one of the three pills prescribed on both prescriptions was a psychotropic drug. He carefully examined the two prescriptions issued on Friday, October 1. One of them was a copy. Siddick Warsallee fraudulently obtained twenty-eight 5 mg Diazepam tablets, known by the trade name Valium, classified as a dangerous drug.

A CID team, led by Sergeant Makoon, was assigned to the case. These police officers were able to trace the case to Siddick Warsallee during the day of Friday, October 15 and proceed to his arrest. The fifty-year-old who was subjected to a tight interrogation, ended up confessing his guilt in this case of swindling to the prejudice of the state.

The same day, he was brought before the court of Flacq. A provisional charge of fraud was brought against him. As the police objected to his release on bail, he was sent to the Central Prison of Beau-Bassin to be detained.
