Mr Jugnauth visited the duty-free shop, the arrival and departure halls, as well the Police Post. Today’s visit follows the Prime Minister first meeting at the airport last August to take stock of the quality of service provided to passengers.

The visit was followed by a meeting comprising representatives from, amongst others, the Airports of Mauritius Co. Ltd; Airport Terminal Operations Ltd; Airport Holdings Ltd; Passport and Immigration Office; Mauritius Police Force; Ministry of Health and Wellness; and Customs of the Mauritius Revenue Authority.

The objective of the meeting was to evaluate the level of service quality and satisfaction and examine whether the improvements brought into the procedures involved in the handling of passengers by all concerned stakeholders, as suggested following the site visit earlier this year, helped in enhancing passenger experience and has had a positive impact on the image of Mauritius as a tourist destination.
