Phoenix : A Case Of Parricide Recorded

Must Read

Following a request made to the Phoenix police station, a team went to Osman Lane, St.Paul, where they found a man lying unconscious on his back. The man was Gerard Tuyau, a resident of the alley. An ambulance from the Service d’Aide Médicale d’Urgence (Samu) was called to the scene. The doctor on duty was to pronounce the victim dead. The police investigation led to the arrest of his two sons, Marie Hansley Gérard Tuyau, a 37-year-old metal worker, Nigel Yannick Tuyau, 30, and the latter’s concubine, Suhaiah Bibi Ludialam, 26. Both men are on file at the Phoenix police station. Suhaiah Bibil Ludialam told investigators that on the evening of Tuesday March 5, her partner Nigel Tuyau had beaten up her father. The latter had vomited blood.

Forensic technicians were called to the scene to collect evidence and samples. They also went to the victim’s home for the same exercise. The body was then taken to the morgue at Victoria Hospital, Candos, for an autopsy. The autopsy attributed the death to a ruptured spleen.

In the evening, the men of the Phoenix CID, led by Inspector Maiharaub, proceeded to question the two sons of Gérard Tuyau and Suhaiah Ludialam. The two ungrateful sons are drug addicts and registered with the police. SuhaiahBibi Ludialam had to state in his statement that his partner Nigel Tuyau had accompanied his father to the bank to make a withdrawal. On the way home, the victim collapsed in the alleyway leading to her house. Gérard Tuyau’s wife is also expected to be questioned about the attack on her husband.

Hansley and Nigel Tuyau were arrested and charged with murder. They appeared in Curepipe court yesterday morning.
