Navin Ramgoolam’s Transfer To AIIMS: The Flight Time Has Not Yet Been Fixed

Must Read

One could say that the country is on tenterhooks. Dr Zouberr Joomye told the press that the transfer of Dr Navin Ramgoolam to the AIIMS could take place this Monday evening or at worst, early Tuesday morning. Two specialised private jets from the Air Ambulance, are expected to arrive, one from South Africa and the other from India. Dr Zouberr Joomye, PMO Advisor will release details in the coming hours.

PM checks on Dr Ramgoolam’s health

A delegation was visiting the Wellkin Hospital in Moka on Monday afternoon. Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, after his statement to the press earlier, came to check whether Dr Navin Ramgoolam is able to fly or not.  He was accompanied by Health Minister, Kailesh Jagutpal, Dr Zouberr Joomye and sir Vinod Bacha could also be seen at the scene. On the PTR side, Dr Farhad Aumeer, Arvin Boolell and Shakeel Mohammed came to inquire from the panel of doctors at the bedside of Dr Ramgoolam who has been undergoing treatment for severe lung problems and has been preparing for his flight to New Delhi.

Indian or South African Air Ambulance

Will the Air Ambulance that will carry him be the one from India or will it be the South African one? The answer will be known in a few hours. In any case, everything is being done for this urgent transfer. His state of health is considered quite encouraging and fit for such a transfer on board of this private medical jet. Dr Navin Ramgoolam will be on the first plane to arrive on the tarmac and will be admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. He will be accompanied by his wife Veena Ramgoolam and a panel of doctors, including Dr Chandradas Subir, Consultant Anaesthetist.

All set in India

In India, “we are all prepared for the prompt care of Navin Ramgoolam by the medical team dispatched, as soon as he arrives at the Delhi airport. He will be taken by ambulance to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and will be admitted where his treatment will start immediately. We are working with the Director of AIIMS, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indian protocol officials,” confirmed Maya Hanoomanjee, Mauritius’ High Commissioner to India.

Everything is set except the confirmation of his flight time.
