Nations League: Les Bleus Crucify The Devils At The End Of The Match And Go To The Final

Must Read

What a crazy scenario between Belgium and France! Les Bleus, led 2-0 at the break, turned the Red Devils around thanks to Benzema, Mbappé and Théo Hernandez to finally win (2-3). Carrasco and Lukaku were the scorers for the Belgians.

Leading 0-2 at the break, the French team managed the improbable by overturning Belgium (2-3), this Thursday, in the second semi-final of the Nations League. Les Bleus will play the final against Spain on Sunday.

The match started very strong with a monumental save of Lloris on a close range shot of De Bruyne. A hot alert for Les Bleus, slightly dominant and close to make their opponents fold on a huge acceleration of Mbappé after a service of Griezmann. After a first quarter of an hour, the rhythm dropped. The Belgians left the control of the ball to the French, who faced a very compact and grouped block.

Alternately, Belgium and France alternated possession sequences without finding the opening. However, the Red Devils were much more insistent and finally opened the score thanks to Carrasco, who beat Lloris at the near post (1-0, 37th). A goal that hurt the French, as Lukaku doubled the score with a shot from a tight angle after having played Lucas Hernandez (2-0, 41st).

France could not have done worse after the break. But Griezmann, although ideally served by Mbappé, got tangled up when he had to adjust Courtois. Benzema had much less pity for his partner in Real as he punished him with a left-footed swivel shot after another very good work of the Parisian (2-1, 62nd). A goal that also made Belgium, in panic, concede a penalty by Tielemans for a foul on Griezmann, converted by Mbappé (2-2, 69th).

After 70 minutes, the two teams were evenly matched. De Bruyne forced Lloris to make a good save while Tchouaméni warmed up Courtois’ gloves. Nearly scored by Mbappé, the French team, physically and technically superior, was frightened by a goal of Lukaku finally refused for offside. While Pogba hit the square on a free kick, Theo Hernandez crucified Belgium with a powerful cross-shot in the opposite small net! France is in the final against Spain!
