The National Poomsae Championship of Taekwondo took place on Sunday, December 11 at Pandit Sahadeo in Vacoas from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. This is the third edition of this event where Rodrigues had the privilege to participate. About 50 clubs, with students from 9 to 60 years old, divided in about ten categories, responded to this large-scale competition. Among the 12 clubs of Rodrigues, a selection was made and the selection was trained by the coach, Jean Laval Plaiche. 6 Rodriguans and 9 Rodriguans were part of the competition. This year’s competition also hosted a double competition for the otherwise able where 2 girls and 2 boys from Rodrigues were selected among a score of otherwise able from the Gonzague Pierre-Louis club in Camp du Roi.
Namely, the 4 differently abled from Rodrigues made a perfect record with 2 silver medals, 1 gold medal and 1 bronze medal.
