As of Sunday 3rd October, there are 95 new cases. 90 cases are asymptomatic and 5 have been admitted to New ENT Hospital in Vacoas. Since March 2020 till now, 1.22% of the population has been infected. The rate of Covid positive cases has dropped below 100, according to the Ministry of Health and no death has been recorded as compared to Russia who has recorded 890 deaths in 24 hours, according to Agence France Presse (AFP).
The frightening Consent Form
Concerning the vaccination in Mauritius, 866,681 people are primo vaccinated and 802,661 are duly vaccinated. While there is smooth progress for the third dose, there are still ongoing protests regarding the vaccination of young people, especially following the paragraph in the Consent Form that imposes a waiver of prosecution in case of side effects and death from the vaccine.
