Man Found With Knife Stuck In Stomach

A 24 year old man was seriously injured and admitted to the Victoria Hospital, Candos on the evening of Friday, December 9. This after he was stabbed in the stomach before being robbed of his laptop at Captai Bruce Street, Rose-Hill, not far from St Andrews College. When he was found by police, he had a knife stuck in his stomach.

Following a request from the Operations’ Room of the Western Division, a team of police officers went to Captain Bruce Street, Rose-Hill at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Friday evening, December 9. A man who was bleeding heavily was lying semi-conscious in a bush with a knife stuck in his stomach. First aid was administered on site by police officers. A man who was on the scene was asked to identify the victim to police. He said he spoke to him on the phone around 8:38 p.m. on Friday, December 9. The victim had confided to him that he had been assaulted by two individuals before being relieved of his laptop.

The victim was evacuated urgently to the Good Shepherd Clinic in Rose-Hill to receive treatment. He was then taken to the Victoria Hospital, Candos where he underwent surgery before being admitted to the ward.

The Criminal Investigation Division of Rose-Hill was seized of this case.
