The fourth and final round of the G-Trail 2023 urban taril league takes place this Saturday 9 December at 6.30pm in Mahebourg. More than 700 participants are expected to take part in the two races on the programme, ready to do battle and discover the monuments of the fishing village.
Mahebourg sets the tone for its urban trail. G-Trail Events in collaboration with the Department of National Infrastructure and Community Development is holding its final round of the 2023 Urban Trail League at the Mahebourg waterfront this Saturday, December 9 at 6.30pm.
Two races are on the programme for the evening. The traditional 10 km with 400 participants and a new feature, the 3 km fun run with 300 participants. “At G-Trail, we’re always trying to vary our urban trail concept to meet the needs of participants and the environment. Hence the idea of offering a 3km race for the first time. It will also be an opportunity for participants to come along as a family to discover the historical side of Mahebourg, with monuments such as the Lavoir, the Abreuvoir and the Pointe de Regates, to name but a few”, said Xavier Verny, Director of G-Trail Events.
Two hundred Mahébourgeois were invited to take part in the 3km race thanks to the contribution of several sponsors, including Go Sport, KFC, Quality Beverages Ltd, Simelec Ltée, Omnicane Ltd, Noveprim Ltd, GWM, Mauritius Duty Free Paradise Co. Ltd and State Bank Ltd. “Since our first collaboration in 2020, the night trail concept has developed considerably in Mauritius. We are delighted to be working alongside so many partners and participants. We hope it will be a great celebration”, said Dominique Fileul, Managing Director of City Sport Maurice Ltée.
A race pack including a t-shirt, race number, discount vouchers, drinks and goodies will be given to each participant. And as usual, a food pack, fruit and a dessert will be offered to participants. Musical entertainment will also be provided in the race village on the Mahebourg waterfront. The various winners will be rewarded in eleven categories for men and women.
