Saturday’s main race promises us a thrilling final straight with good finishers fighting for victory.
The two best runners of this sixth event are, on paper, Dynamite Jack and Special Blend.
Dynamite Jack is the hot favorite. He took a solid second behind Juniper Lane on race day two. He had tried everything that day, but he was unable to catch Juniper Lane who had had a golden run up front. He seemed to be in better shape with this run under the belt.
After gleaning five wins in 2020 and 2021, Dunamite Jack ended the 2023 season without any success. He placed twice and he ran in higher categories. His only underperformance was his last race last year when he was beaten by Special Blend.
There will be revenge or confirmation. Because Special Blend will be the main danger for Dynamite Jack on Saturday. He won easily in his last race over 1600m and he will make his come-back. The trip seems a bit short for him, but he has a reference race over 1400m with a nice second place just 1.36L behind Walls Of Dubrovnik on July 2023. Special Blend is in great shape, and he can beat Dynamite Jack again.
Trippi’s Express will have a nice card to play. He could well have a nice trip in front as he is the only front runner. He will start from draw gate number 1 which will help him a lot.
Iditarod Trail did nothing wrong last year. He did not win, but he grabbed six places in his seven outings. He often finished strongly late. This small field might be just what he needed as it is unlikely that he will have traffic problems.

Poetic License, horse number 2 of race 2 (La Fête du Travail Cup) for Race Meeting 7 on Sunday 30 April 2023, has been scratched at 10.45. a.m. this Friday 28 April 2023 by the Racing Stewards of the Horse Racing Division, acting on veterinary advice.
Poetic License has sustained an injury. As per the rules for fixed odds betting, all monies placed on Poetic License are cancelled and refunded, and betting is to be reopened. Tickets for fixed odds for that race must bear a special mention.
For the tote, the bets on Poetic License will be refunded after the official results for Race 2 on Sunday 30 April 2023, except for all other types of bets where it is stipulated that it is replaced by the Tote favourite.
