Ganesh Chaturthi: PM Present At Melrose For Official Celebration

On Friday 10th September, the Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagnauth along with his colleagues’ ministers, members of the parliament, and the High Commissioner of India, were present at the Melrose Gajanan Saraswati Mandir for the official celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi.

While congratulating the Mandir for the progress accomplished, the Prime Minister said a few words about the Task Force, which has been set up to help all religious communities by always bringing progress in terms of infrastructure and cleanliness at religious places. He also voiced out his support to a socio-cultural organization that is doing a good job in transmitting our culture and traditions to future generations.

During his speech, the Prime Minister also spoke about the complete reopening of our borders in the upcoming weeks, which is important for the re-boosting of our economy. It should be highlighted that a budget of MUR 24.4 Billion has been allocated to the self-employment scheme in order to help companies that were affected due to Covid-19.  Despite 80% of the adult population has already been completely vaccinated, he pointed out that all sanitary precautions should be maintained to contain the virus.

On that special occasion, the launching of the Souvenir magazine of the Gajanan Saraswati Mandir was done by the Prime Minister, and a painting of the lord Ganesh was gifted to him from the hands of the President of the Marathi Mandali Federation, Mr. Govind .
