Must Read

Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne submitted the resignation of her government to President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, who accepted it, the Élysée Palace announced.

After twenty months at Matignon, Elisabeth Borne has tendered her resignation to Emmanuel Macron. Will she now sit in the National Assembly as MP for the 6th constituency of Calvados?

Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne tendered her resignation and that of her government to Emmanuel Macron on Monday January 8, the Élysée announced in a press release.

In a message on X, Emmanuel Macron thanked the head of government “wholeheartedly” for her “exemplary” work in the “service of the Nation”. Élisabeth Borne and her team will remain in office until the new government is appointed.

In recent days, the two names that kept coming up for the post of Prime Minister in this long-awaited reshuffle were Sébastien Lecornu and Julien Denormandie. But it could finally be Gabriel Attal with whom Emmanuel Macron will continue his second quinquennium. We’ll have the answer in the next few minutes.
