The leader of the Rassemblement Mauricien faced the press on Friday 1st October and deplored an excessive politicisation of the country’s institutions. He dealt at length on Air Mauritius. For Nando Bodha, the problem of Air Mauritius and of the country has a common concern, namely a governance concern. He explained that it is a management problem and excessive politicisation that has brought Air Mauritius to its current situation.
Nando Bodha also questioned whether an adviser, close to Lakwizinn, is the right person to run an airline that was in trouble. “We want competence and integrity. We are playing with an industry that brings in two billion rupees,” he insisted.
In fact, for Nando Bodha, there is a need for a profound change and especially a board of directors who can manage the company and who will work for the national interests.
The leader of the Rassemblement Mauricien also raised his doubts about the duration of the voluntary administration, the choice of directors and the cost of this exercise, which he describes as “exorbitant”.
On the health aspect, Nando Bodha said that the real state of the pandemic in Mauritius is not known to the public. According to him, the fact leads to a psychosis.
