Only a few days left before the start of the new school year on July 5th. If in several primary and secondary schools, students have been taking distance learning courses for almost two weeks, nothing will replace the interaction between the teacher and his class. This year, the start of the school year will be unprecedented in many ways.
On the one hand, with the pandemic still raging, all teaching and non-teaching staff must be vaccinated in order to have access to their school. In addition, the High Level Committee of the Ministry of Education has put in place a program to reduce the number of students.
For secondary school, students in grades 9, 11 and 13 will attend classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. While grades 7, 8, 10 and 12 will attend class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Still concerning the beginning of the school year in secondary schools, the academies that will be mixed from now on, had to make some modifications in their infrastructures in order to be able to welcome boys and girls.
The toilets or even the staircases had to be modified as in the colleges that usually welcome boys, had to make accommodations for girls. The same is true for schools that used to be all-girls.
As for the students of the primary schools, the students of grades 4 to 6 will go to class on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while the students of grades 1 to 3 will be in class for two days.
Note that the first term will end on August 27.
