Document Forgery: Nurse Remains In Custody

A raid on the home of Nitin Kumar Munbodhowa, a 33-year-old nurse working at Dr. Bruno Cheong Hospital in Flacq on Saturday, December 11, resulted in the seizure of 17 medical certificates. On Monday, December 13, police officers from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Flacq arrested the resident of Isidore Rose. Confronted with these elements of proof, this suspect did not take long to confess his guilt for the crime of falsification of documents. The same day, he was brought before the court of Flacq on a provisional charge. As the police objected to his release on parole, he was kept in a police cell.

On Saturday, December 11, around 11:10 a.m., a team from the Divisional Crime Intelligence Unit of the Eastern Division led by Sergeant Mungly-Hiddoo, under the supervision of Inspector Shibnauth, with a search warrant, arrived at Nitin Kumar Munbodhowa’s house. This following information obtained to the effect that this nurse is engaged in a traffic. In the absence of the principal concerned. This exercise took place in the presence of his mother, aged 55 years.

During this search in his room, these police officers were to find seventeen medical certificates on a table. Ten of these documents belonging to the Ministry of Health and Welfare were blank. Four of them had the seal of this same ministry of the Unsorted department. Two others with the names of two patients, but without any official stamp and one medical certificate bearing the name of a patient with the official stamp of the Department of Health of the Flacq Hospital of the Out Patient Department dated November 8, 2021. This document also bore the seal of a physician.

All these documents as exhibits were seized for the purpose of the investigation. The investigation was handed over to the CID of Flacq. Nitin Kumar Munbodhowa, who is wanted since then, constituted himself as a prisoner at the office of the CID of Flacq on Monday morning, December 13, in the company of a lawman. The CID wants to know if this nurse is involved in a network of forgery of documents.
