More than two years after the fact, a teenager, now 17 years old, has broken the silence to denounce one of her father’s best friends for rape. This crime dates back to the morning of Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his home in the Rose-Hill area. The suspect she knows as PO had come to see her father. In the absence of the latter, he took the opportunity to abuse this teenager, who was then 14 years old. This case was reported by the Brigade of Minors of Rose-Hill in the afternoon of Tuesday, January 11.
A policewoman from the Juvenile Brigade reported the case of the 17-year-old girl in the presence of her father and an officer from the Family Welfare and Protection Office of the Child Development Unit of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare. In this complaint, she explains that on April 14, 2018 at around 9:00 a.m., the teenager was about to leave her home when the so-called PO had arrived. As he was looking for her father, she had confided in him that he was absent.
PO pushed her with both hands onto a sofa in the living room and then jumped on her. He then blocked her neck with his forearm. He was determined to satisfy his sexual urges and removed her clothes before sexually abusing her. The teenager said she tried to scream, but her father’s best friend did not stop. He even placed his left hand over her mouth to stop her from screaming.
PO then threatened her that if she ever told anyone about the affair, he would come after her little sister. The victim expressed a wish to be examined by a medical examiner.
In addition, a 21 year old female resident of Pavillon, Cap-Malheureux reported a 16 year old male for indecent assault. This crime dates back to January 1, 2021 at one o’clock in the morning. On that day, the woman recounted in her statement made in the afternoon of Tuesday, January 11, she had gone to find her husband at Camp Gervaise, Cap-Malheureux. She said she met this teenager who was drunk. He made indecent proposals to her before pulling her by her hand. At one point the young woman fell, the teenager then tried to sexually assault her.
