It is a disgusting news that spread in the village of Dagotière in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 11. A 75-year-old woman was the victim of an attempted touching. The author of this act is none other than her son, aged 46, living in the same house. The latter was arrested the same evening and placed in detention at the Quartier-Militaire police station.
The septuagenarian in a state of shock was admitted to the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis. In a complaint made by a policewoman assigned to the police station of Saint-Pierre, the victim recounted the nightmare that she lived around 2 am on Tuesday, January 11. In great detail, she came back on this event that she will not forget soon. She was sleeping in her room when her son pushed her and she fell to the ground. The forty-year-old then turned off the light before removing his clothes to force himself on his mother. He tried to sexually abuse her.
The septuagenarian was able to free herself from the grievance of her son. The latter then went to another room. About ten minutes later, he returned and pretended not to understand. He even had to ask his mother why she was screaming. The septuagenarian went out of the house to alert the neighbors. The St. Pierre police station was informed of the case.
The victim was taken to the Dr Jeetoo Hospital where she was admitted to the ward. It was in the late afternoon that his statement was recorded. On the evening of Tuesday, January 11, at around 10:00 pm, her son was arrested. After spending a night in detention, on Wednesday, January 12, he was brought to the court of Moka. As the police objected to his release on bail, he was kept in a police cell.
