The Central Division’s Family Protection Squad has been called in to investigate the sexual abuse of a 7-year-old boy. The suspect in this case is his mother’s live-in partner. The offence was committed this year, but the child, who is in grade 3, has no recollection of the day or time when the 27-year-old man subjected him to the act.
It was in the presence of his mother that this little Curepipien recounted the whole affair to a policewoman from the family protection brigade. His mother’s partner, he said, had forced him to satisfy his sexual urge in her bedroom. At the same time, his 15-year-old half-brother, who had entered the room, surprised his stepfather, who quickly got dressed.
His half-brother informed his father, who in turn informed his mother late in the afternoon of Sunday April 14. On Monday April 15, the boy’s mother took him to Victoria Hospital, Candos, where he was admitted to the ward to follow protocol for victims of sexual abuse.
An investigation has been launched into the case.
