Despite the general decline in Covid 19, the country has recorded 739 cases in one week and 9 deaths. The Vacoas treatment center has 11 patients in a more serious condition.
There are 658 local cases detected by the PCR tests and 81 foreign cases. And for this Friday, the Ministry of Health has reported 70 new positive cases. The 9 deaths were all patients admitted to the New ENT Hospital. The same hospital reports 11 more serious cases, including 1 on life support and 10 on oxygen. On Friday 01st April, the treatment center registered 5 new patients. In the regional hospitals, 100 patients have been admitted during the past week and 28 new cases on Friday.
Vaccination remains on the rise with 1 005 039 people receiving the first dose, 970 706 for the second dose and 596 916 for the booster dose, including 240 160 at Johnson & Johnson, 249 291 at Pfizer, 82 833 at Moderna, 8 807 at Sinopharm and 2 825 at Astra Zenneca. Rodrigues has 72.7% of its population vaccinated with the first dose, 72.3% with the second and 12 722 with the third. As for adolescents, the campaign reported 74 786 young people for the first dose and 67 911 for the second.
