Bradley Guilbeau, a 21-year-old mason, met a tragic end on Sunday evening, October 9. This resident of Cité EDC, Riambel was at his father-in-law’s home in Morcellement Mauripark, New-Grove when the tragedy occurred. The young man was coming down the stairs when he fell.
However, the day of this Sunday, October 9, seemed to be off to a good start, as the victim and his loved ones all went to Ile aux Cerfs. Bradley Guilbeau, according to his relatives, took the opportunity to have alcoholic drinks. Back at the home of his mother’s husband, he continued to have fun. It was around 8 p.m., his 15-year-old brother had just gone downstairs to bed when he heard a noise. He came out to see what happened and that’s when he saw his older brother lying on the floor at the bottom of the stairs.
Bradley Guilbeau was rushed by ambulance to Jawaharlall Nehru Hospital in Rose-Belle where he was pronounced dead around 10:00 p.m. on the evening of October 9. His body was subsequently transferred to the morgue of the Victoria Hospital in Candos for an autopsy. This was done on Monday morning, October 10, by Dr. Prem Chamane, Principal Police Medical Officer, who attributed the death to a skull fracture.
An investigation was initiated at the level of the police station of Rose-Belle to shed light on the exact circumstances of this tragedy.
Bradley Guilbeau’s funeral is scheduled for this Tuesday, October 11 at 9:30 am. He will be buried at the Petit-Bel-Air cemetery in Mahébourg.
