ASP Roshan Kokil Forced Into Early Retirement

Roshan Kokil was transferred from the CCID headquarters to the Western Division while the investigation into the torture continues. Roshan Kokil was the officer in charge at CCID, who had taken a USB stick from the Commissioner of Police, Khemraj Servansingh, in February 2021 containing videos of the torture of detainees at the hands of police officers from the Red Earth CID, led by Inspector Kailash Derochoonee.

ASP Kokil, who had worked for many years in the CCID, was transferred to be the head of the Scene Of Crime Office after his promotion to Chief Inspector. After his promotion to ASP, he was again assigned to the CCID. Moreover, he had been the main investigator of the Wakashio sinking.
