The contract of Khemraj Servansing came to an end on Monday, after having being extended in May. DCP Anil Kumar Dip, commanding officer of the SMF, has been called to be the Commissioner of police. He takes charge as from tomorrow, August 3.
Anil Kumar Dip had overseen the Special Mobile Force (SMF) since 4 June 2020, following the departure of Khemraj Servansingh as Commissioner of Police to replace Mario Nobin.
Anil Kumar Dip was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) on 6 September 2019 and oversaw the Police Training School in Beau-Bassin.
