Almost Rs 2 Million Worth Of Uprooted Cannabis Plants

The Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) of the Central Division proceeded to uproot 650 cannabis plants during the day of Friday October 21. These plants, which measure between 1 meter and 1.5 meters, were uprooted in forests in the Eau-Bleue and La Vigie areas, respectively. The market value of these cannabis plants is Rs 1 950 000.

It is on the basis of certain information that these police officers landed in these forests after the police helicopter spotted the cultivation of these plants. In Eau-Bleue, Sergeant Surat’s men uprooted 275 plants, which measure between 1 meter and 1 meter 25.

In a forest in La Vigie, Sergeant Bullywon’s men discovered a crop of 375 plants, measuring between 1 meter and 1.5 meters. The uprooted plants were transported to the ADSU headquarters at the Central Barracks as evidence.

An investigation was opened at the level of the ADSU of the Central Division in order to identify the presumed cultivators of these plants.
