On Sunday 24th October, Indian Oil (Mauritius) Ltd was celebrating its 20th anniversary at the High Commission of India in Ebene. To commemorate the celebrations, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun and Her Excellency, the High Commissioner of India, Mrs. K. Nandini Singla were both present as chief guests.
The ceremony started with the welcome note addressed by the Managing Director of IOML, Mr Navin Charan followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the guests and the cake cutting which was followed by a video of the 20 years of achievements.
“When a company is able to consolidate itself for such a long period of time, I think it speaks for itself…” are the words taken by Mrs. K. Nandini Singla during her speech. As said by Her Excellency, the 24th October 2021 is a very auspicious day. Indeed, this date does not only commemorate the 20th anniversary of IOML but also commemorates the 76th anniversary of the United Nations, which happened on the 24th October 1945. She also mentioned that companies like IOML represent an important bridge bringing a key contribution to the bilateral relationship existing between India and Mauritius.
On his part, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun spoke about the good relationship that exists between the two countries. Having a huge number of Indian corporates contributing in the advancement of our country clearly shows that India has always supported Mauritius even before our Independence. Very proud to be taking part in the celebrations, he congratulated the whole team of IOML for their achievement over these last 20 years.
Mementoes were gifted to the guests of honours and customers which was followed by a cultural show presented by the artists of IGCIC.
