2021 Vocation Festival On 25 And 26 September

Must Read

Members of the organizing committee of the 2021 Vocation Festival met with the press on Wednesday to give details about the 39th edition of this activity scheduled for September 25 and 26. The vocation festival will be relocated this time.

No national gathering but a decentralized edition in the parishes with small gatherings of fifty people. Centered on the theme, Sakenn dans so parwas, nou tou ansam, the 39th edition aims to encourage vocations, including priesthood, and to raise funds to finance the studies of seminarians, young people in formation, with the goal of becoming a priest.

This year eleven seminarians, four of them at a more advanced level, were sent to different seminaries.

Four have entered the seminary of Saint Jean, Nantes. Six young Mauritians are in the seminary of Notre Dame de l’Esperance in Orleans and the dean, 40 years old, is studying in the Beda seminary in Rome.

While rejoicing over the exceptional number of young seminarians, the representatives of the Diocese of Port-Louis, notably Father Laurent Rivet, Christiane Tadebois, representative of the finance department of the Diocese, and Sister Solange Perraud, reminded us of the stakes of this campaign, which in 2021, raised approximately Rs 10 million. This year, it will be possible for members of the public to contribute by bank transfer, juiceby MCB and My.t money.

This year, this edition will be held in two stages. On Saturday, September 25 at 8:00 p.m. there will be an online concert to raise funds for vocations. Father Laurent Rivet and his band, Zezi United, will host this event that the public will be able to follow on Facebook.

The next day, parishes will gather young people for a day of vocations. September 26 will end with a mass presided by Cardinal Maurice E. Piat which will be broadcast on MBC TV.
