The Deputy Minister of Education and Vocational Trainings of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Mr Ali Abdulgulam Hussein, paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, yesterday, at the seat of her Ministry in Phoenix.
In a statement, Mr Hussein said that the meeting was cordial and that discussions focused mainly on the promotion and transformation of the education sector. Accompanied by his delegation, the Zanzibar Minister is on a visit to Mauritius to learn about the experiences and transformation of the Mauritian education system since Zanzibar has also brought a shift to its education system.
Education, he stated, is at the root of development of any sector, adding that the current education system of Mauritius is one of the best in the African region. The possibilities of working together and developing cooperation in the education sector was also highlighted with the Vice-Prime Minister, Mr Hussein said.
