Two drug addicts, known to the Police, are actively sought by officers of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Rose-Hill for having taken a sum of Rs 400 from a 77-year-old man under threat. The latter, living in Belle-Rose, filed a complaint during the day of Friday, February 25, after having recovered from the shock.
This septuagenarian lived a real nightmare on Thursday February 24. He had just returned home after having been to the Super U hypermarket of Belle-Rose. He was sitting in his kitchen around 11:05 am when he saw an unknown man passing in a dead end close to his house. Two minutes later, this man came back and said “to finn look mwa ek to finn krase”.
The septuagenarian had to retort in the negative but the man in question had to continue the conversation by telling him, “sa pa fin koumsa mem ek ou pou bizin dedomaz mwa. Otherwise, mo pou kraz partou la”. At that very moment, the couple was afraid for their lives. The septuagenarian was forced to apologize to the man to calm the situation.
Despite this, the man continued to threaten him and the septuagenarian agreed to give him the sum of Rs 200. The individual then had to declare that he is a drug addict, that he was detained at the prison and also followed a treatment at the psychiatric hospital of Brown Sequard Beau-Bassin.
At the same time, another man made his entrance and the latter had to tell him, “donn li Rs 400 fini sa laem”. He did so, understanding that the two men were in cahoots. The latter took the money before running away.
The septuagenarian said he was so traumatized that he could not stand up because he was shaking. He says he did not allow these two men to cross the dead end at any time.
The old man and his wife were not injured. His house is equipped with a surveillance camera system.
