Transfer Of Dr Ramgoolam To India Confirmed

After so much unravelling, flops in negotiations and bad blood that lasted all day, it is finally confirmed, the departure of Dr Navin Ramgoolam is scheduled for this Tuesday Afternoon (around 2PM) on board an Air Ambulance, South African or Indian, the origin is nevertheless not communicated by the PMO.

Obstacles faced by Dr Ramgoolam

The obstacles were multiple, the biggest being the restriction and the risk of carrying a certain quantity of oxygen cylinders on board an Air Mauritius aircraft, commercial. The Prime Minister had even announced at 11:00 a.m. on Monday 6 September that the Reds’ leader would not be able to fly in his condition. In the late afternoon, Dr Ramgoolam had even expressed his annoyance at the PMO’s procedures which had been dragging on for 48 hours without a concrete decision being taken on his situation and the recommendations of a panel of 6 doctors to transfer him to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, an annoyance which could have spilled over into a spur of the moment decision by Dr Ramgoolam to get back home even without treatment.

Saving confirmation

The announcement of the confirmation came after a visit by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth to Wllkin Hospital. He was accompanied by Health Minister Kailesh Jagutpal, advisors Dr Zouberr Joomye and Sir Vinod Bacha, Dr Farhad Aumeer, Arvin Boolell and Shakeel Mohammed. It can be said that finally the efforts of the Indian High Commission in Mauritius and the PMO were successful.

Maya Hanoomanjee, High Commissioner of Mauritius to India also confirmed that everything is being done to ensure that Dr Navin Ramgoolam is received and treated in the best possible way at the AIIMS, which specialises in the treatment of these types of acute lung disorders in addition to the Covid virus.

Yaj in Triolet and elsewhere

A prayer for the recovery of the former PM… At the Triolet Ravi Ved Mandir, the Dharmic Parishad Association and the Red leader’s followers organised a Yaj, a special prayer by acharyas for his recovery and good progress of his treatments, on Monday evening. Apart from PTR MPs from constituency No. 5 and 6 Ranjiv Woochit and Mahen Gangapersad respectively, active PTr members attended this prayer including Kalyanee Juggoo, Anil Bachoo, Satish Faugoo, Suren Dayal, and Michael Sik Yuen, Dhiraj Khamajeet among others. There are other prayer sessions organised at various locations by the Voice of Hindus and other members and followers of Navin Ramgoolam.

Navin Ramgoolam will be flying today on an Indian or South African Air Ambulance with his wife Veena Ramgoolam and a panel of doctors including Dr Chandradas Subir, Consultant Anaesthetist. The lion sleeps tonight, also, at the Isolation Ward of the Wellkin Hospital.
