Rama Valayden responded to a summons to appear at the Special Striking Team headquarters on Wednesday. This followed his comments on the air of a radio station, to the effect that there was planting of drugs concerning the so-called Vimen Sabapati. He was accompanied by members of his panel of lawyers, including Jacques Panglose, Anoop Goodary among others.
After the exercise, he and his lawyers spoke to journalists. He said that the way things were going, he does not think they will go far. Jacques Panglose said the police have informed Rama Valayden of the official charge against him. “The police believe that Rama deliberately instilled poison in the public’s head with his words,” he said. He added that his client denies the charges.

However, Rama Valayden, like Jacques Panglose, welcomed the courtesy of the SST.
It is be noted that Me Jacques Panglose filed a motion to strike this charge on Tuesday, but the debates could not take place in court because the representative of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) requested a postponement, and the case will be taken on Tuesday, May 23.
