Must Read

“Si pa gagn kas la pou ena sirpriz kot twa dan lakaz”. So said Sergeant Nasruddin Shah Moss, 39, assigned to Special Supporting Unit (SSU) No. 1, to a 31-year-old contractor living in Cottage on the afternoon of Thursday January 25, demanding a sum of 70,000 rupees to avoid arrest. He led the entrepreneur to believe that a newly promoted Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in charge of a shock unit had received information that he was involved in drug trafficking. On the Friday morning of January 26, this sergeant, who had introduced himself as Sergeant Goodur, was arrested on his way to collect the money in the company of his accomplice. The latter confessed to the crime and incriminated Sergeant Moss.

It was just under 6 p.m. on Thursday evening, January 25. This Cottage entrepreneur was at home, where a religious ceremony had taken place following the death of his father. One of his friends had called him because a police sergeant and another person wanted to meet him. He said he went to meet the sergeant, who introduced himself as Sergeant Goodur. At the same time, he withdrew his warrant card. The contractor says he accompanied the sergeant to his car, a white Toyota.

He says he took a seat in the vehicle. Sitting in the back seat was an individual wearing a blue and white police jacket with an MPF logo on the left side. This sergeant alleged that he was involved in illegal activities, even the consumption of drugs at my home. He denied this accusation. According to the sergeant, this information was obtained by a police team led by an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), with whom he works.

The sergeant asked him for Rs 70,000. The sum of Rs 50,000 will go to this ASP, Rs 10,000 to himself and the other Rs 10,000 to the other policeman, who is in his company. He made it clear to this police sergeant that he did not have this amount of money in his possession. The sergeant then told him that he would come the next morning at 10 a.m., on Friday January 26.
